President Angie arrives with spirit!
Supported by the usual suspects, 2025-2026 has jumped into the deep end to lead Hermosa Rotary this year. Enthused to bring on new members, she is using all her SuperPowers to create excitement and a different look for Hermosa Rotary.

HERMOSA ROTARY SPONSORS KENYAN STUDENT ROGERS TO ATTEND UNIVERSITY
With "mom-like' assistance from Suna Migori Rotarian Jamima, one of the students we sponsored through High School, Rogers, is now attending a local Kenyan University. Rogers is an orphan who lost his grandmother several months ago and now has no family support. He is very bright, but needed morale and logistics help from Jamima plus some funding from Hermosa Rotary to be able to go to Maseno University. The Kenyan Government pays much of the costs, but requires students to financially participate. This was impossible for him without our funding, and Jamima's urging. Thank you, Jamima! BTW: his full name is Odhiambo Onyango Rogers.
who knew?
Today we learned President Angie's son A.J. Silverman is a former Rotary Exchange Student to Germany (sponsored by Manhattan Beach where his father was a member) and this year he is helping new incoming Exchange Students to our District 5280 with their orientation, getting settled and with general coordination. He is pictured below wearing his Exchange Student Blazer adorned with pins and mementos from all the other exchange students he met along the way. Congratulations, A.J., and thanks for paying back!
One more coincidence: This weekend, Friends of the Parks (Jody & Laura) hired a guitarist to play before the film at Movies on the Beach. Turns out, it was A.J. We're told the crowd loved it!
Hermosa Rotarians Enjoy the charms of the midwest this summer
Kim finds fishing success at Minnesota's Leech Lake.
That is a 53" Walleye she is holding!
Steve went looking for midwest surf. Found some at Salida, Colorado and at "The Malibu of the Midwest" in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, where a local surfer said to us the famous line from "The Endless Summer": "You should've been here yesterday!"
movies at the beach sept. 6 & 13 highlight hermosa rotary and our farmers market
Hermosa Rotary and our Farmers Market were banner sponsors for Friends of the Parks Movies at The Beach, attended by thousands of local resident families.
Friends of the Parks President and Hermosa Rotary Honorary Member Laura Leventhal worked hard to put on this great Hermosa Family Event.
Behind the scenes, Honorary Rotarian Neil Leventhal prepares a special video for the event highlighting Hermosa Rotary and the Farmers Market.
